100 Years of Black History

October 5, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Bellwood Public Library will host “100 Years of Black History Presented by Storyteller Linda Gorham.”

An East African proverb states: “Until the lion starts writing down his story, the hunter will always be the hero.”

In this program, the Bellwood Public Library celebrates African American heroes who have made phenomenal contributions to this country over the past 100 years — often under difficult circumstances. Linda Gorham incorporates music, personal narrative, quotes and interesting facts to celebrate over 30 African American men and women.

This program aligns with One Book, One Proviso’s mission to highlight critical, but often overlooked, aspects of African American history throughout the year.
