A Screening of ’13th’

The library will host a screening of the 2016 documentary “13th” by filmmaker Ava DuVernay. The film explores the “intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States.”  A discussion will follow the screening. This book aligns with One Book, One Proviso’s focus on social justice-oriented themes that relate to Fred Hampton’s and the Black Panthers’ legacy.
